- Prerequisites
- Differential and integral calculus in several variables, linear algebra.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The main objectives can be summarized as follows:
to introduce selected mathematical models and techniques of mathematical modelling;
to construct the models using differential equations;
to "translate" the differential equations to the language of system dynamics (in the sense of Sterman);
to introduce "agent-based-type" models;
to construct, analyze and interpret selected models originated in economics and humanities. - Syllabus
- Deterministic dynamical models - phase variables, transient equations, constraints.
- System dynamics - accumulations and flows.
- Agent-based models.
- Selected models - macroeconomic growth, functioning of advertisement, conflict situations, colective behavior.
