It is necessary to have finished the course MB000 or simultaneously to study the course MB000.

Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to use the computer algebra system Maple to solve the multivariate calculus problems.
Syllabus
  • Differential calculus of functions of several variables, partial derivatives, differential.
  • Extrema of functions of several variables.
  • Integral calculus of functions of several variables. Double and triple integrals, integrals depending on parameter.
  • Infinite series, criteria convergence.
  • Absolute convergence of series.

Teaching methods
The lecture is conducted by means of computer excersise. Students are firstly shown how to resolve given problems with the help of the system Maple. Students subsequently try their obtained knowledge on assigned exercises.
Assessment methods
In the semester's duration two unexcused absences are allowed. The requirement for the successful course completion is the attendance and passing of the final test at 50 % minimum.
