- Course objectives
- At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand and be able to explain theory radiative transfer; physical conditions in atmospheres stars; origin continuous and lines spectra; lines broadening and profiles
- Syllabus
- 1. Methods obtaining of spectra
- 2. Spectra of atoms and molecules in astrophysics
- 3. Profils of spectral lines, broadening and shift lines
- 4. Radiative tranfer equation and their solution
- 5. Curves of growth, determination of chemical composition of atmospheres
- 6. Models of atmospheres, grey atmospheres, LTE, NLTE
- Exercises:
- 1. Radiation of stars
- 2. Spectra atoms and molecules in astrophysics
- 3. Shifts and broadening of spectral lines, width lines
- 4. Boltzmann's and Saha's equations
- 5. Physical conditions in atmospheres
- 6. Radiative transfer equation, their solution and consequence
