- Course objectives
- Introduction. Chemical analysis of waste water. Microbiological analysis of wastew water. Aerobis and anaerobic part of cleaning of waste waters. Purification of water.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will be able to - select methods for chemical analysis of waste water - select the methods for the microbiological analysis of waste water - identify a representative species of microorganisms in waste water - design a procedure for finishing water

- Legislation relating to the wastewater treatment.
- Wastewater composition, pollution indicators.
- Wastewater collection.
- Technology of the wastewater treatment plants (mechanical treatment, biological treatment, sludge management).
- Second block
- Microbiology of drinking water, bioterrorism.
- Pathogenic microorganisms in the wastewater.
- Microbial indicators of wastewater faecal contamination.
- Waste water disinfection.
- Microbiology of aerobic purification processes.
- Microbiology of anaerobic purification processes.
- Third block
- Excursion to wastewater treatment plant.
