Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to understand common chemical calculations in chemistry, practically utilize chemical equations a corretly use inorganic nomenclature.
Syllabus
  • Basic chemical laws.
  • Atom, its composition, mol.
  • Stoichiometric calculations.
  • Concentration units a their conversions.
  • Acidity and basicity of solutions, pH.
  • Solubility product.
  • Chemical equilibrium.
  • Calculations in electrochemistry.
  • Chemical equation editing.
  • Inorganic compounds - nomenclature.

Teaching methods
Sample exercises are elaborated and discussed within the seminar.
Assessment methods
Students must score at least 60 percent on 10 in-term tests. Otherwise, they have to score at least 60 percent on the final test covering the whole syllabus.
