- Abstract
- Practice is focused to the recognition and determination of fungi, above all the common fungi of our nature. Identification of various groups of fungi is completed with field lessons in the spring season.
- Learning outcomes
- Students’ skills at the end of the course:
- recognition of the common fungal species in their natural habitats;
- knowledge of fundamental macro- and microscopical determination features of various fungal groups; - Key topics
- (1) Overview of fundamental groups of fungi and fungus-like organisms:
Basidiomycota (hymenomycetes, gasteromycetes). Ascomycota. Microscopic fungi (anamorphic Ascomycota, Zygomycota). Parasitic fungi (of various groups - Basidiom., Ascom., Oomycota, Chytridiomycota). Lichenes. Slime moulds.
(2) Identification of students’ own material.
