Introduction to Academic Writing

Week 8

Please note: the Homework Vaults for Monday and Friday groups will be removed if Easter class takes place a week later.

Information on Draft Sessions

- You are required to submit two drafts (3-5 pages of "normostrana", i.e. 1.800 characters including spaces ) during Weeks 8 to 12.

- You are not submitting the same pages again for the second draft. Instead, you are submitting a different set of 3-5 pages with my feedback incorporated.

- Deadline -- the midnight before the regular time of your class. Expect your feedback within three to four work days.

  •  For example, Tom Masaryk submits his first draft for Draft Session No. 1 (so during Week 8 of the semester), but due to other coursework is unable to submit his second draft during Week 9. As a result, he submits it for Draft Session No. 3 (so during Week 10).

Rules for Submitting Your Drafts

- Submit only to the folder of your seminar group. If you did not manage to submit within the specified deadline for the given draft session, you will have to submit the draft for a future draft session.

- Submit only files in the pdf or docx format.

- Make sure to indicate clearly which pages you want me to read. This is especially important if the file includes more text than the part you wish me to read. You can do so either on the first page of the file, as a comment in the file, or in the file name itself.

- Subsequent drafts MUST show that you have incorporated my feedback in some way.

- Proofread plus run through spell checker before submitting.

- If your draft does not conform to the rules above, I will NOT read your draft for the given week and the drafts will NOT be counted towards your submissions.
