Abstract

In 2015, the free open-source was created as a part of . Five years down the road and the package boasts 130 stars on GitHub, has received funding from David Vins and the Omedym company, had a series of tutorials written by Overleaf staff, and was featured in several Czech [1, 2] and English [3–5] journal articles. In this talk, I will explain what the markdown package does, why is it useful, how it is implemented and used, and where we are headed in terms of future updates.
