Self-study of European patent law. 

It is suggested that the student reads the text on pages 113 to 240 in Pila Justine and Paul Torremans. 2019. European Intellectual Property Law. 2nd ed. Oxford United Kingdom: Oxford University Press.

Regarding the European patent with unitary effect, it is recommended to read McDonagh, Luke. European Patent Litigation in the Shadow of the Unified Patent Court, (Cheltenham, UK: Edward Elgar Publishing, 2016)

Self-study requires self-motivation and the own initiative of a student. The knowledge gained is just informative and valuable for the student and will only be tested in the final examination at the end of the PhD.
