Module 2: Project Design for Strengthening Health Systems

Overview

This seminar provides an overview of key concepts related to health systems and project management. The seminar covers the basics of complex adaptive systems and the building blocks of health systems, including the importance of systems thinking.

The seminar also delves into the project management cycle, including the analysis phase and class exercises on problem trees. Participants will learn about setting targets and indicators and budgeting for health projects. Finally, the seminar concludes with guidelines for designing a successful health project.

Through this seminar, students will gain a thorough understanding of health systems and project management, equipping them with the skills to design effective health projects in low and middle-income countries. With a focus on practical, hands-on learning, the seminar provides students with real-world experience in developing and managing health projects. By the end of the seminar, participants will have a clear understanding of the steps involved in designing a global health project, from analysis and planning to implementation and evaluation.
