Instructions
Welcome to the course, we prepared you a quick video with instructions on how to pass this course. Detailed information is in the text below.
Attendance rules
This course contains Lectures and Seminars. Lectures have the purpose of disseminating the fundamental knowledge. In the seminars, you will acquire the necessary practical skills by working in small groups.
Because of the epidemy of COVID 19, we will not be able to teach lectures in the large lecture halls. We will replace lectures with video conference. The lectures are scheduled to take place on Mondays at 18:00. You will be able to access them via live stream, and they will be recorded and uploaded into the study materials (in the subject of public health practice). If you connect to the live stream, you will be able to ask live questions to the teacher. Attendance at the lectures is not compulsory. The "Public health - lectures" will be concluded by the written test, that will summarize all the knowledge from lectures, seminars and study materials. You can attempt this test, only after you completed the "Public Health-Practice" (see below).
You are expected to attend all of the seminars. Please check your timetable to make sure you do not miss them. To pass the "Public health - practice" you will need to score nine points. For attending the seminar, you will score one point. If you miss the seminar, you will score zero points.
Assignments
Each seminar is connected with an assignment, which is another word for homework :-) You will find the assignment in the corresponding chapter of the interactive syllabus. The most important thing is to finish your assignment on-time. If you fail, we will give you a chance to repeat the assignment. If you miss the deadline, you will receive zero points. If you pass the assignment, you will score one point.
Study materials
We understand that obtaining textbooks can be quite tricky. Therefore we based this course on the "open access textbooks" that are available on-line.
On-line communication
We created a Microsoft teams group for on-line communication, streaming lectures and general enquiries. MS Teams is like a social network for professionals and educational institutions. There is a general discussion board. If you have a question, please do not write us emails, but ask the questions publicly in the MS teams group. There is a good chance that your colleagues have a similar question and would like the answer as well.
