Dear students,

this study guide will take you through the basics of educational assessment and provide you with sufficient information for its fundamental understanding and preparation for the final state exams. The topic is viewed through the lens of the Czech educational context, therefore most of the information is drawn from Czech sources. These sources are listed in the text respecting the citation principles, however, knowledge of the listed authors will not be required during the final state examination test.

This section provides information about the legislation related to the diagnostic assessment processes in schools.

The objective of this chapter is to introduce the fundamental principles and methodolos of educational diagnostic assessment and to familiarize readers with the methodologies and procedures involved in diagnostic assessment. The aim is to outline the prerequisites for teachers' diagnostic proficiency to facilitate individualization and differentiation in teaching, drawing upon data derived from diagnostic activities within a teacher's professional practice.
