The basis of doctoral studies at LF MU is systematic work on the thesis in regular interaction with the supervisor, supplemented by faculty-wide conditions for graduate studies. Before defending the dissertation, the following obligations must be fulfilled: - fulfil the requirements of the individual study plan and semester assignments as instructed by the supervisor - complete a minimum of 4 courses on a common faculty-wide basis - complete module-specific courses - complete the publication activity at least to the prescribed extent - complete an internship abroad (of at least 1 month) - present the original data at an international conference - pass the state doctoral examination - submit the thesis - obtain 240 ECTS Common Core Courses (all modules): 1. Completing the FRESHERS course: Skills for Research Careers (mandatory) 2. Ethics of Biomedical Research (strongly recommended for all Ph.D. candidates) 3. Course Acquisition of scientific information, or Course of basics of scientific work of the Czech Academy of Sciences 4. Ethical and Legal Aspects of Research (e.g. the course Ethics of Biomedical Research, Law, Ethics and Philosophy of Science) 5. Organisation of Research Projects and clinical trials 6. Data Analysis (e.g. Clinical data analysis, data analysis for neuroscience) 7. Computer Network User Publishing Activity: One first-author publication of an original paper in a journal with an IF value above the median of the field or 2 first-authored publications in a journal with an IF value in the third quartile of the dissertation field. The WoS category corresponds to the topic of the dissertation. When a category is assigned to more than one field, the quartile of the highest field is counted.
