Anotace
The aim of the course is to provide students with exposure to current research and expert discussion in the field of finance through participation in selected seminars delivered by international guest lecturers. Students will deepen their understanding of contemporary topics and research methods in finance and reflect on insights that can support their academic specialisation or thesis work. All seminars are conducted in English and cover diverse topics related to financial markets, corporate finance, investment decision-making, financial regulation, or behavioural economics.
Výstupy z učení
After completing the course, the student is able to:
* follow and comprehend expert-level presentations in finance delivered in English,
* reflect on the content of a seminar and formulate individual insights,
* critically assess the relevance of presented ideas for financial practice or research.
Klíčová témata
  • * Introductory meeting with instructions and seminar overview
  • * Attendance at a minimum of three selected seminars (in-person or online)
  • * Submission of written reflections for each attended seminar
  • * The list of recommended seminars will be provided to students continuously during the semester

  • Specific academic literature will be assigned during the semester with respect to the selection of specific seminar topics.
Přístupy, postupy a metody používané ve výuce
Teaching methods: Participation in expert seminars, individual reading, written reflection.
Způsob ověření výstupů z učení a požadavky na ukončení
* Mandatory attendance at at least three recommended seminars
* Submission of a written reflection (approx. 1 standard page) for each seminar, including:
– summary of key points,
– personal insights,
– brief commentary on the relevance of the topic.
Both requirements are necessary to pass the course.
