Cíle předmětu
The main aim of this course is to provide an overview of select research methods used in health investigations, especially descriptive studies of the experience of illness and people’s perceptions of health and ill health. The course is aimed at the methodology of scientific research in health and introduces students to common methodological procedures for researching and surveys in health care. Students will learn practically the main concepts and techniques in carrying out a research project and understand people´s perceptions, behaviours and experiences about health and the effects of illness.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course, students should be able to choose an appropriate research method and propose a survey design to address a particular research question in healthcare. Students will understand the basic concepts and approaches in social research in health. They will be able to apply economic evaluation of health and value of life and use them in cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and cost-benefit analysis.

Lessons take the form of seminars. It is expected students´ activity in seminars and their own project preparation and presentation.
