Cíle předmětu: Course Description: The course is focused on the origins of the western economic success. It traces it back to the institutional development in the pre-industrial era. It is of interest for students of economics (especially of economic growth, evolution of financial institutions and markets, and institutional analysis), historians, and students of social sciences in general. Topics covered: economic growth and productivity organization of economic activity and finance interaction of government and the economy Prof. Meir Kohn is a distinguished scholar in the field of finance and institutional economics. He has published numerous, widely used textbooks and papers. The course is based on his almost finished book with the same title.
