  • This course outline encompasses two fundamental modules dedicated to Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis in the field of Sports Sciences.
  • Research Methodology consists of topic themes based on A Review of the Fundamentals, Types of Research, Research Project, Research Ethics, The Literature Review, and The Research Hypotheses. Additionally, the module covers Statistical Power, Data Collection Methods, and Sampling.
  • The second part focuses on Characteristics of a Good Test, Variable Types and Scaling, Misuse of Statistics, Descriptive Statistics, Inferential or Analytical Statistics, Multiple Comparisons Problem, The Effect Size, and Probability.

Výukové metody
The following teaching methods will be employed throughout the semester:
- Individual project presentations, fostering collaboration and presentation skills;
- Practical exercises and simulations, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice;
- Discussions and debates, promoting critical thinking and argumentation;
- Peer assessment, involving mutual evaluation among students, providing feedback on each other's work and presentations.
Metody hodnocení
Attendance at lectures is optional but strongly recommended;
- Attendance at seminars is mandatory, with two unexcused absences allowed. Any subsequent absence must be properly excused through the Information System (IS);
- In the case of an individual study plan, students need to contact the course coordinator before or at the beginning of the semester to discuss options and procedures;
- Students will present and critically evaluate a selected publication during the seminar;
- The final credit will be conducted online through a test covering the course material (multiple-choice format, with only one correct answer each time).
