- Students are required to use a fully manual camera that can preferably operate an external flash (e.g. not a cell phone or a point-and-shoot). Equipment can be borrowed at school.

- Cíle předmětu
- The student will gain a basic understanding of how to take photographs in various lighting conditions and settings, ranging from portraiture, product, event, and more, being able to visuaulize the end photograph before pressing the shutter button.
The student will also be able to manipulate images in Photoshop, or a similar program, to create interesting, new images that involve multiple layers, blending modes, layer masks, and others. - Výstupy z učení
- The final project will include takeing lyrics from a song, chosen by the instructor, and creating a series of images, roughly fifteen, that match those lyrics somehow. The images will include all of the elements discussed in the class. So, they will need to include elements of portraiture, product photography, event photography, low lighting, etc., as well as elements of image manipulation in Photoshop or similar.
The final projects will face peer review from the other students in the class. - Osnova

- Day one:
- Intro, history, types of bodies, lens construction, exposure. Hw-exposure practice
- Day two:
- Rule of thirds, introduce elements, introduce projects, zone system. Hw-36 unique photos
- Day three:
- Photoshop intro. Exposure adjustment, sharpen, levels, channels, curves. Hw-fix photos
- Day four:
- Settings, landscapes, travel
- Day five:
- Flash and lighting
- Day six:
- Portrait
- Day seven:
- Product
- Day eight:
- Event
- Day nine:
- Photoshop 2 composite images, layers, blending modes
- Day ten:
- Black and white
- Day eleven:
- Low light - night shots
- Day twelve:
- Present final projects.
