The command of French at the secondary school level is expected. It is suitable to have attended the subject "Introduction to the Constitutional Systems of France and French-speaking Countries".

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic concepts of civil law and procedural law, with the hierarchy of French courts and with administrative, civil and criminal procedures; to increase their knowledge of legal terminology and to systemize further their knowledge of French grammar.
Syllabus
  • Working with authentic materials on these topics: Basic concepts of law in general and of civil law. Administrative organisation of France. Hierarchy of courts in France. Administrative courts. General courts of firth instance. Specialize courts and courts of second instance - appeal, cassation. Civil procedure. Criminal procedure. Examples from judicature of different courts. Conversation topics : CV, motivation letter, their form. Grammar and legal vocabulary from lessons XI-XX of the textbook Cahier d'exercices de grammaire pour les juristes.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
V seminářích budou probírány francouzské texty na výše uvedená témata, doplněny o autentické dokumenty. Gramatická část bude spočívat převážně v samostudiu zadané látky s ověřením úspěšnosti v lekcích.
