- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the international trade law in its three levels. The course is aimed at the basic overview of international economic law (sources, subjects), the law of WTO, common trade policy of the EU and at the legal regulation of international sales contract. At the end of the course the student should be able to understand the rudiments of the legal regulation in the international trade area.
- Syllabus
- 1. Three levels of relations in international trade. Sources of international economic law.
- 2. Subjects of international economic law. WTO - aims, organisational stucture.
- 3. GATT, GATS, TRIPS.
- 4. Common trade policy of the EU.
- 5. Introdution to the regulation of international business transactions.
- 6. Scope of application of the CISG.
- 7. Formation of sales contract under the CISG.
- 8. Obligations of the seller and buyer under the CISG. Delivery terms.
- 9. Lack of conformity of goods. Notification process under the CISG.
- 10. Remedies for breach of contract under the CISG.
- 11. Damages under the CISG.
