Course objectives
The aim of this lecture is to offer review of basic knowledge in banking and financial engineering along the free market economic theory and bank institutions analysis. Function of central bank and commercial banks are the centre of this lecture. At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand basic principles of bank system analyze functions of bank system delineate differentiation between central bank and commercial banks analyze offer of bank credits analyze offer of alternative financing
Learning outcomes
As part of the Banking course, the student will gain knowledge about the functioning of the banking system of the Czech Republic (central bank and commercial banks). He will also gain knowledge about the most important products of commercial banks (deposits and loans). He will learn about the rules of communication with the bank and the risks that arise when concluding credit agreements. They will learn to prepare a professional essay on banking issues. They will confirm their knowledge with professional excursions to the Czech National Bank and Komerční banka.
