Course objectives
The main objectives of the course are:
Understanding of the constitutional development in Lithuania, Orientation in the Lithuanian Basic Law;
Recognizing the system of state organs in this republic and its circulation;
Understanding of the role and position of the Constitutional Court; The ability to compare with Czech law;
Perfection of legal German language.
Syllabus
  • 1. The Basic Principles of Lithuanian Constitutional History 1918-1940; The Constitution of the Lithuanian Constitution of 1992.
  • 2. The Basic Law of the Lithuanian Constitution of 1992; The state of Lithuania; The principle of division of forces.
  • 3. The legislative power (the Parliament - the Seimas).
  • 4. The executive power (the President of the Republic and the government).
  • 5. The judicial power (ordinary jurisdiction).
  • 6. Constitutional Jurisdiction (the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania).
