- Course objectives
- The goal of nursing practice is to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in a highly specialized nursing care for patients with surgical and internal diseases. An integral part of the preparation for specialized roles in selected areas of health care and to obtain information about a facility where such care is provided. Practice will take place on: internal and surgical intensive care units.
- Learning outcomes
- Skills: - track, monitor and evaluate data on health status, especially physiological functions, evaluate the severity including the use of invasive methods; - Implement a comprehensive highly specialized nursing care focused on prevention of immobilization syndrome and care of the airways in patients with a secured airway; - Manage communication techniques in patients with a secured airway; - Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation using available technical equipment including cardiac defibrillation electric discharge; - Monitor the functioning of special instrumentation and ensure its permanent readiness; - Maintain documentation Activities: - measurement and analysis of physiological functions by using specialized instrumentation procedures including the use of invasive methods; - Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation using technical equipment including cardiac defibrillation electric discharge; - Participate in the preparation and administration of medicines; - Conduct patient education - providing highly specialized nursing care for patients in the surgical and internal departments, including recognition of complications; - Track, monitor and evaluate health data; - Master the techniques of communication; - Maintain documentation
- Syllabus
- Practice of students at ICU internal or surgical type. The student will perform activities to a minimum extent. Performances and their frequency: - Evaluation of data on health conscious 6x; - Evaluation of data on the health status of the patient unconscious 6x; - Ensuring patient in critical condition (receive) 6; - Care of the airways (including rekanylace) 6; - Suctioning of airway 10x; - Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (or. On model) 6; - Cardiac defibrillation electric discharge (or. On model) 6; - Preparation and assistance with securing central venous entry 10x; - Preparation and assistance with the introduction of the arterial catheter 6x; - The introduction of peripheral venous catheter 6x; - Measurement of central venous pressure 6x; - Bladder catheterization man 6x; - Assistance for tracheal intubation 6x; - Gastric lavage in patients with a secured airway 6x; - The introduction of nasogastric tube in patients unconscious 6x
