- Anotace
- The aim of the course is to provide students - future teachers- with tools to develop and nourish critical thinking in themselves and their students. It focuses on the use of socio-cultural materials that we are exposed to every day and that carry a lot of additional information, which can be discovered and understood only through the process of thinking about the material critically. One of the crucial tasks of the course is highlighting importance of critical thinking in the process of personal development (of the pupil) and its vital role in creating an independent, open-minded, and mentally resilient individual.

- After taking part in the course, the student will be able to:
- critically assess primary and secondary materials, including its political and cultural implications;
- look at the materials surrounding us in everyday life from various perspectives;
- develop more open-minded approach to any form of information;
- asses suitability of materials for classroom;

The task suitable for the portfolio inclusion includes the lesson plan and self-reflection based on personal experience during microteaching and feedback received in class.
The portfolio task reflects the competences reflecting the KRAUU/OSKR (i) Students are led to use the foreign language as the means to share various points of view and to critically assess and discuss global questions, developing their critical thinking and interpersonal communication. (ii) Students work with the formative feedback from the mentor and their colleagues, cooperating on the improvement of their skills and competencies. (iii) understanding the complexity and interrelatedness with other fields and key concepts (history, culture, politics, gender studies, etc.) (iv) Students‘ responsibility is supported through active participation in classes, modelling didactic implementation of the topics into their field. (v) Students are shown how to plan lessons in order to clearly and systematically reach their goals Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn 4 ECTS credits. Each ECTS credit represents 25 to 30 hours of work. In the seminars, full-time students are expected to spend 26 hours. The remaining 74 - 94 hours are allocated for self-study (approx. 6 hours a week). - Náhradní absolvování
- The course is designed in a way that requires active participation in seminars. It is therefore not possible to take part online or pass the course without attending the seminars.

All materials are available online. The class is designed in a way that focuses on class discussion and participation and it is therefore not possible to take the course during the stay abroad. In the course, the use of AI is permitted for learning but not for cheating. It is acceptable to use AI for brainstorming ideas, basic proofreading, suggestions for improvement. It is unacceptable to have a text generated, translated or reformulated. Remember to acknowledge all innovative ideas that are not yours. For generated ideas use in-text citations. At the end of each assignment, state how you worked/did not work with AI. When in doubt, consult your teacher. - Studijní opora
