Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
At the end of this field practices, students should be able to: (1.) identify basic types of central-european habitats and (2.) some types of south-european ones; (3.) explain relation between ecological factors and biodiversity of selected habitats; (4.) confirm in their abilities of collecting, fixing, preparation, identifying and demonstrating of organisms and other products of nature; (5.) should be able to apply acquired knowledge into their future teachers practice and (6.) use English language during teaching natural history subject (CLIL method).
Learning outcomes
At the end of this field practices, students should be able to: - identify basic types of central-european habitats and some types of south-european habitats - explain relationship between ecological factors and biodiversity of selected habitats - train abilities of collecting, fixing, preparation, identifying and demonstrating of organisms and other products of nature - train abilities to apply acquired knowledge into their future teachers practice. - use English language during teaching natural history subject (CLIL method)
Syllabus
  • 1st 1-2 days: Montane or Alpine nature (e.g. Julian Alps, Kamnik Alps, Western Karavanks) – botany, ecology, geology, geomorphology, zoology. 2nd 1-2 days: Classic karst (caves, polje and lakes, museum) – geology, geomorphology, zoology, botany, ecology. 3rd 1-2 days: Coastal nature and surroundings of the Adriatic sea – botany, ecology, geology, geomorphology, zoology (aquarium etc.).
