Cíle předmětu
Course Grammar 1B deals with English grammar at intermediate level. The main objective is to summarize and develop the students' knowledge of particular grammar points (see the Outline of the course below).
Students work on the corresponding units of Macmillan Grammar in Context (used in class as the primary source as well as at home as self-study material). Another source - English Grammar in Use - Third edition(by R. Murphy) is recommended for self-study to those who need and want more practice. Classes are devoted to summary and practice of the grammar issue discussed.
At the end of the course the students should be able to: use the grammar structures discussed in context, form complex sentences, give examples of their own, become competent users of the language, identify and correct the most common mistakes

Students will be able to:
use the grammar issues discussed in context;
compare similar structures with focus on their similarities and differences;
give examples of their own to demonstrate understanding of the issues discussed;
be aware of the most common mistakes in order to be able to correct them and realize where the inteference of Czech causes problems

All materials will be available from a moodle course. FOR ONLINE SEMESTER (if there is one): Students are requested to secure good internet connection in order to participate in online lessons as indicated in the schedule. Students MUST attend these meetings with BOTH THE SOUND AND CAMERA ON.
