- The scope of linguistics, the history of linguistics, varieties of English, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and ethnolinguistics affecting language teaching strategies.

- Predmet je vyučovan formou semainaru (cast je teoreticka s vykladem ucitele, cast prakticka s konkretnimi priklady). Ukončení předmětu: zápočet (zavěrečný credit test ve zkouškovém období), případně kolokvium Studenti píšou 1-2 progress testy během semestru. Tolerovány jsou maximalne dve neomluvene absence.
