- Course objectives
- First, essential theoretical bases of teaching literature will be presented in context of contemporary curriculum and in connection with new trends in methodology of teaching literature. Students will get acquainted with contemporary approach to teaching literature, new trends and less traditional methods how to work with literary text. Students will learn how to apply used methods while working with particular children´s literature text

- 1.Methodology of teaching literature (history and the present) 2.Basic information about readership research and primary school children (age 6 to 11) reader´s reception 3.Literary-scientific links of interpretation 4.Complete interpretation as teacher´s focus on training the work with text (in theory and in practice) 5.Interpretation methodology as a teaching literature component 6.Traditional and non-traditional interpretation methods – in theory with examples how to apply used methods 7.In practice – interpreting epic texts 8.In practice – interpreting lyric texts 9.Classical and stimulating methods in teaching literature 10.Motivation methods, work with common and individual off-reading-book reading

- Teaching methods
- Lectures will focus on traditional, non-traditional, mainly creative methods of how to work with literature with primary school (age 6 to 11) children. Examples and representative extracts will be shown. Students will acquire new methodology approaches in theoretical, practical and application perspective. Students will creatively use knowledge from lectures and own work with given literature. Students can regularly consult with teacher.
- Assessment methods
- Students will show results of their work in written form. Thanks to that the capability of critical thinking and the precise conclusion formulation will be strengthened. Termination: credit Requirements: Written preparation concerning literary-critical activities on primary schools (age 6 to 11), more detailed assignment will be given on the first lecture.
