Prerequisites
Students must be able to present and defend their own opinions and to accept constructive criticism and advice. Tackling topics in depth and defending the arguments in their written work sharpens their thinking.

The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
This lesson is drawn out for 1st grade students. The programme is made to introduce the basic resources of theatrology. On succesful completion of the course student will be able to explain elementary theory of Theatre and Play.
Syllabus
  • Introduction into theater studies. 1. Introduction. What is theatre. 2. Theatre studies as a science. Classification of theatrological fields. 3. Theatrological institutions. 4. The department of history of theatre of Moravské zemské muzeum. Work with archive materials. 5. Theatrological literature I. Periodics, textbooks, year-books, dictionaries, encyclopedies. 6. Theatrological literature II. Scholerly publications of theatre theory. 7. Theatrological literature III. Scholerly publications of theatre history. 8. The Archive of the amonal theatre in Brno etc. 9. The databasis and a bibliografy to history, literary history, and history of the theatre etc. 10. The Essentials rules of writing of scientific text. The bibliographic citations. Content, modality, structure. 11. Moravský zemský archiv. 12. Final test.
