Cíle předmětu
Absolvování kurzu FRESHERS: Skills for Research Careers, nabízeného MU (Odbor výzkumu - Rektorát) Kurz lze absolvovat kdykoliv RVK1 bude uznán po absolvování kurzu členem oborové rady - koordinátorem pro Modul II. Bližší informace ke kurzu: https://is.muni.cz/auth/predmet/cus/jaro2024/FR_J2024 The aim of the course is to get an overall picture of the topics that researchers face such as international exchanges within Ph.D., financing research and grant opportunities, publication ethics, communication of science and research results promotion, etc. and thus strengthening the abilities and skills of young scientists to better integrate into national and international projects and research structures.
Výstupy z učení
After completion of the course students will be able to: • identify the opportunities for financing research in the academic sector on the national and international level • assess the standard principles used in the evaluation of funding applications, basic evaluation criteria, and determine what style of writing to use to impress the evaluators • know basic ethical aspects of research projects including field specifics and issues of personal data protection • search in bibliographic databases and learn to make a basic analysis of their own publishing activities • think behind the reasons for effective science communication, the value such work has, and ideas on how success in this field can be attained • find out what intellectual property is, how it could be used for their benefit and when to attempt to protect it • have an overview of open science and research integrity issues and • identify various types of research infrastructures

Metody hodnocení
For successful completion, it is necessary to watch at least 90% of the lectures (7/8) (either watching lectures in real time or watching lecture recordings in IS).
Informace učitele
Ukončení kurzu bude mít formu kolokvia realizovaného v bezprostřední návaznosti na poslední výukový blok. Kolokvium bude probíhat dvěma způsoby: A) pro studenty v prezenční formě studia se bude jednat o skupinovou diskusi s garantem předmětu nad hlavními tématy kurzu, a to se zaměřením na evaluaci odevzdaných úkolů a identifikaci oblastí, které jste vnímali jako přínosné a efektivní a oblastí, jež by bylo vhodné do budoucna více akcentovat, B) pro studenty v kombinované formě studia, či pro studenty na zahraniční stáži bude stejný způsob ukončení realizován prostřednictvím schůzky v MS Teams. Termín schůzky bude opět shodný s posledním blokem kurzu, čas bude upřesněn na základě předchozí dohody tak, aby vyhovoval všem studentům zapsaným v předmětu (v případě potřeby může být realizováno více termínů těchto online setkání).
