- The course is offered EXCLUSIVELY to the students of the Chinese Department of Masaryk University.
- Exceptions could be made ONLY IF an Erasmus student has Chinese Studies as their major at their home university and if the student can present documented proof. Language proficiency certificates (HSK/TOCFL) are NOT accepted.

form simple sentences in modern Chinese (in speech and writing)
understand simple fluent speech by Chinese native speaker
read simple text in modern Chinese

Student will be able to: - use spoken and written version of new vocabulary - use new grammatical phenomena - answer to basic questions and create basic sentences - react properly in basic dialogue on textbook topics

  • This course (Chinese II) uses Integrated Chinese Level 1 Part 2 (Lesson 11-20; i.e., 10 lessons + 2 review weeks), following the order of the textbook's lessons.

Teaching methods
The course is taught by Chinese native speaker who combines various teaching methods (conversation, questions answering, listening, written tasks, presentations etc.)
Assessment methods
Final written exam (computerized, on campus) and oral exam (in person). The student needs to pass both the written (70% above) and the oral exam.
Besides the exams, the following rules must be observed:
1) Up to 4 unexcused absences are allowed in one semester. In case of 5 or more unexcused absences, the student will not be allowed to sit the final exam.
2) In order for an absence to be excused, the student should approach the Study Department of the Faculty with an official request.
3) The student fulfills all tasks given by the teacher (assignments, presentations, etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence.
4) Students must not switch study groups, unless the teacher explicitly approved.
FORMAT OF FINAL EXAMS:
The written exam takes place on a Monday or Tuesday, followed by the oral exam on Thursday or Friday of the same week. Only after a student passed the written part will s/he be allowed to sit the oral. The oral part takes the form of 1-on-1 conversation with the main examiner. The students who passed the written part will be approached for a time slot for the oral.
The oral part takes place in the presence of a senior member of the department as a co-examiner ;-)

Evaluation Method: 1. Criteria: ( 70 %↑, can attend final exam.) Students have the right to participate in the Final exam only if they have total score (attendance + assignment + test + discussion) above 70%.  Attendance 30% 3 unexcused absences allowed during the semester.  Assignments 30% You have to hand in your assignment on time. Besides, please finish the assignment completely before the class. 1 late assignment 23% 2 late assignment 16% 3 late assignment 9% 4 late assignment 0%  Tests 20% After every lesson, there will have a test next time. Moreover, we will have some unannounced tests sometimes.  Discussion 20% Students should preview the textbook and participate in class discussion aggressively. ========================================================= 2. Final exam ( oral and written part; 70%↑: pass, 70%↓: fail) above 70 % pass, less than 70 % fail

Cílem předmětu je rozvíjení základních znalostí moderní čínštiny, schopnosti jazyk aktivně používat a rozumět mluvenému slovu, základů psaní a čtení. Na konci kurzu bude student schopen tvořit jednoduché věty v mluveném i psaném projevu v moderní čínštině, rozumět jednoduchému projevu rodilého mluvčího, číst jednoduchý text (vše v rámci probrané látky -- gramatiky a slovní zásoby).

Výuku vede rodilý mluvčí, který vhodně kombinuje rozličné metody výuky cizího jazyka (konverzace na zadané téma, odpovědi na otázky, náslech a testování schopnosti studentů porozumět, písemná cvičení, prezentace jednoduchých referátů ad.)
Assessment methods (in Czech)
K udělení zápočtu je třeba úspěšně splnit požadavky závěrečného testu. Dále je nutné dodržet následující pravidla:

1) V průběhu 1 semestru jsou studentům povoleny 4 absence. V případě 5 a více absencí nebude student připuštěn k závěrečnému testu, tzn. nebude mu umožněno kurz ukončit.
2) Přítomnost na hodině zahrnuje plnění úkolů stanovených vyučujícím (domácí úkoly, presentace na hodině apod.) Nesplnění těchto úkolů (nepřipravenost studenta) se hodnotí jako absence.
3) Studentům není dovoleno střídat skupiny, leda ve výjimečných případech výslovně předem schválených vyučujícím.

K udělení zápočtu je třeba úspěšně splnit požadavky dvou testů, jednoho v polovině semestru a jednoho na konci semestru. Dále je nutná pravidelná účast na hodinách a psaní diktátů (jednou týdně) -- student je povinen napsat (odevzdat) nejméně 80% diktátů, které se v rámci semestru píší.

K udělení zápočtu je třeba úspěšně splnit požadavky dvou testů, jednoho v polovině semestru a jednoho na konci semestru. Dále je nutná pravidelná účast na hodinách, psaní domácích úkolů, prezentace krátkých vystoupení v čínském jazyce.
Skladba hodnocení: test v průběhu semestru 10%, prezentace 10%, závěrečný test 80%. Hranice udělení zápočtu: 60%.
Požadavky na docházku a domácí úkoly: pokud je docházka nižší než 80%, student ztrácí 10b (10%) z celkového hodnocení; pokud je docházka nižší než 60%, ztrácí 20b (20%);pod 40%, ztrácí 30b; atd. Pro odevzdávání domácích úkolů platí stejné pravidlo.
