  • The course structure:
  • 1) The 1st class in the week: The student prepares a presentation on a topic based on his/her interest or the textbook used in the basic course (Integrated Chinese 1.2) and present it to the lecturer (5-10 minutes). Free conversation on the topic follows (15-20 minutes), the lecturer asks questions, the student responds; the lecturer carefully corrects all mistakes the student makes, all sentences the student makes must be correct in the end.
  • 2) After the class the same day, the lecturer prepares a list of mistakes the student made in the presentation and writes down a list of new vocabulary (10-15 words) and/or grammatical patterns the student might use in the presentation but he/she did not. The lecturer sends the list to the student by email.
  • 3) The 2nd class in the week: the student re-prepares the same presentation (the same topic) with the suggested new vocabulary and grammar and presents it to the lecturer again (5-10 minutes). Free conversation on the topic follows (15-20 minutes), the lecturer asks questions, the student responds; the lecturer carefully corrects all mistakes the student makes, all sentences the student says must be made correct.
  • 4) At the end of the 2nd class the student and the lecturer choose a topic for the next week.
