- Cíle předmětu
- The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the history of Britain's relatively recent past and present by considering aspects of national identity, social relations, education, political representation, the role of the media and related socio-cultural elements. These topics are presented through a series of lectures-cum discussions and examined by means of a written examination in relation to the relevant reading for the course. By completion of the course the student will be expected to have a relatively detailed understanding of the events, issues and socio-cultural trends related to the history of Britain in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

- Students having successfully completed this course will be expected to have attained a more significantly detailed knowledge of 19th and 20th century British history, particularly with regard to cultural and political history.

- The cause will be taught through a series of lectures.
- Metody hodnocení
- Assessment will take the form of fifty item multiple choice question examination based on the two books specified in required reading above(both books are available at the faculty library in e-prezencka form). The minimum pass mark for credit is fifty percent.
