- Course objectives
- The subjects follows on the course “Didactics of Russian I”. The aim is to prepare the students for independent performances in pedagogical practice, to develop skills gained in mentioned subjects and to prepare their own speeches focused on dealing with concrete teaching elements where their schoolmates will assist in teaching. The semester will also include a demonstration of research-oriented teaching (conducted in tandem with a teacher from another study programme) and its subsequent reflection.
The students will so train their skills of:
- planning concrete teaching unit;
- presenting concrete teaching unit;
- activisation the students when teaching concrete knowledge/skills and when training them;
- visualisation and working with tools and didactical technics;
- presentation with higher number of listeners;
- rhetorically deal with model teaching units.
Student will get the feed-back from both classmates and the lecturer. - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course the students will be able:
- to finely prepare a to the certain time teaching unit;
- to experience an effective approach towards teaching in case studies;
- to present the model teaching unit;
- to effectively apply a wide range of methods, including inquiry-based learning and the ALACT reflective model;
- to rhetorically deal with leading the model teaching unit;
- to give instructions of students’ work and to organize their work;
- to get feed-back to the performance in case studies;
- to create conditions to experience the use of technical means in classes;
- to create condition for discussions. - Syllabus
- 1. The teaching of linguistic resources and the classification of speech skills and its place in the teaching of the Russian language at secondary school. Definition of group and individual objectives for the whole course (assignment of case studies).
- 2. Methodology of teaching Russian phonetics.
- 3. Methodology of teaching Russian grammar.
- 4. Methodology of teaching Russian graphics and orthography.
- 5. Methodology of teaching Russian vocabulary.
- 6. Methodology of teaching speaking in RL lessons. Organization of conversation and practice of conversational skills in the classroom. Evaluation of speaking.
- 7. Methodology of teaching writing. Didactic test. Writing assessment.
- 8. Methodology of teaching listening comprehension. Assessment of listening comprehension.
- 9. Methodology for teaching reading comprehension. Assessment of reading comprehension. Methodology of working with literary text in teaching. Tandem teaching and research-oriented teaching (using the method of expert teams).
- 10. Practical examples of how to incorporate lingvorealia into Russian language teaching. Practice in organizing group work in the classroom.
- 11. Practical use of methods for testing knowledge and skills.
- 12. Practical demonstration of how to prepare simple materials for teaching; their preparation. Choosing and mastering technical means as visual aids in teaching.
