Course objectives
The course is intended to introduce main genres and paradigmes of scholarly interest in arts. Students should be able to understand elementary concepts and methodological problems of art and cultural studies. They should learn the elements of methodological reflexion and argumentation.

Assessment methods
Students are expected to read the the literature related to particular topics of lectures during the semester. The students are required to submit a written essay in the form of a scholarly review of a foreign language book on art or cultural studies. There is a written test at the end of the course.
