The main objective of the course is to acquire practical skills for the documentation of geological objects. Students will learn general methods of geological mapping and detailed logging of outcrops, exposures, and shallow boreholes or trenches. The final report will be submitted at the end of the course.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- perform geological mapping;
- take representative samples;
- document outcrops, exposures, shallow bore holes and trenches;
- plot data acquired in field;

The graduation of the Methods of Geological and Hydrogeological Research is the basic prerequisite of this subject (principles of mapping, the completion of report, the evaluation of compass data etc.). The skill of mineral and rock recognition (basic knowledge of Petrology) and structural element recognition is assumed also.

Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to acquire practical skills for documentation of geological objects. Students will learn general methods of geological mapping and detailed logging of outcrops, exposures and shallow bore holes or trenches. GIS and vector-graphic editor software will be used in processing and presenting of recorded data at the end of the course.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- perform geological mapping;
- take representative samples;
- document outcrops, exposures, shallow bore holes and trenches;
- plot data acquired in field;
