Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: explain basic morphological terms (valve, raphe, central pores, axial area, costae, stiae), understand the most crucial identification features of diatoms, work with information on bioindication, diversity and autoecology and understand important field and laboratory methods used in diatomology.
