LLL programme specification

The study programme Vietnamese Studies for Practice is focused on further education for use in professional practice. In its current form, it includes education in two areas: 1)  study of the basics of the Vietnamese language that prepares graduates for its practical use, and 2) education for profilation and specialization in the area of Vietnamese society and related topics for the needs of educators, public sector employees, and the professional and academic public in the social sciences and humanities who are in work and research contacts with the Vietnamese.

  • Access to Further Studies
    After completion of one or both LLL programmes, the improved professional profile will be an advantage for further academic study of courses and programmes in Asian studies.
  • Additional Information
    The LLL programme has two plans:


    1) Vietnamese Language in Practice I. Students of the course will acquire the rules of Vietnamese pronunciation, including the correct use of tones, and will learn to speak and read Vietnamese with a focus on clarity and comprehensibility within the Vietnamese cultural context. They will become familiar with the basics of Vietnamese sentence structure and the foundational grammar system. Special emphasis will be placed on the interconnection between the Vietnamese language and culture.

    2) Vietnamese Language, Culture and Society: Minimum for Practice. This plan is focused on the needs of educators, public sector employees and academic staff who are in work and research contacts with the Vietnamese.
