Anotace
The aim of this research was to prove or disprove a relationship between measureable levels of post traumatic stress (PTS) and social environment on a group of czech adolescents. Data from the czech part of an international project „SAHA“ ( The Social and Health Assessment) were analyzed in the process. 4,980 pupils from 150 schools in the Czech republic completed the SAHA questionnaire. PTS is a complex phenomenom which significantly influences people’s lives. A direct PTS link with perceived quality of neighbourhood (r=-0,16, p<0.01), feeling of security at home (r=-0,28, p<0.01), feeling of security at school (r=-0,23, p<0.01) and chicane (r=0,24,p<0.01) was proved. Other significant differences were found in the sample concerning age and gender. Older children more often displayed symptoms of PTS. As for gender aspects, PTS was more commonly found between girls when compared to boys. Further research is needed.
