Mezi očekávanými výstupy vzdělávací oblasti Matematika a její aplikace Rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro základní vzdělávání je uvedeno, že žák matematizuje jednoduché reálné situace s využitím proměnných. Nadaní žáci se zpravidla s jednoduchými situacemi nespokojí a vyhledávají úlohy s vyšší myšlenkovou náročností. Jedním ze zdrojů těchto úloh mohou být úlohy z historických sbírek úloh a učebnic. Tyto úlohy jsou specifické svými obraty i náročností na matematizaci popsané situace. V příspěvku je uvedeno několik historických úloh, kterých je možné využít k motivaci nadaných žáků v matematice.

The Frame educational program expects pupils to be able mathematize simple real situations with application of variables. Mathematical gifted pupils usually try to search for more difficult tasks. One of the sources of these tasks can be historical tasks collections and text books. There are introduced several historical tasks for the motivation of gifted pupils.
