TY - CONF ID - 1112142 AU - Bělohrad, Radim PY - 2013 TI - Personal Identity and Attributability KW - personal identity KW - characterization KW - attributability KW - psychological traits KW - bodily traits KW - self-creation N2 - Bodily and psychological theories of personal identity have traditionally been in sharp opposition in their attempts to describe our essence and persistence. The theories all seem to fail to account for the practical concerns that presuppose identity, however. Changing the focus from reidentification concept of identity to characterization concept and seeing agents as self-creators helps us justify the identity-related concerns as well as see that the bodily-psychological dichotomy has little importance.
