The article analyzes debates on forms and function of theatre in the post-November period in Czech Republic. The artists and theatre theorists discussed problems such as a new social and economical condition. The question of natural development and milieu for the theatre, redefining the system of theatre network created in communist era, new models of show-business, and loosing the ideological and ideal background of the theatre were discussed in years 1990 - 1992.
