Results of phytosociological and fl oristic survey of the Pod Kamenným vrchem nature monument near the town of Žďár nad Sázavou (Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area) are presented. Several types of wet meadows and mires, characteristic for higher altitudes of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, occur on this relatively small site. During a fl oristic research study conducted in 2010 and 2011, 185 taxa of vascular plants (24 of them included on the Czech red list) were recorded; this number is higher than those recorded during the last research studies performed in the1980s. Identifi ed vegetation types are documented by 17 phytosociological relevés. The relevés were assigned to following syntaxa using an expert system: Polygono-Eleocharitetum ovatae (alliance Eleocharition ovatae), Caricetum vesicariae (Magno-Caricion gracilis), Sphagno recurvi-Caricetum lasiocarpae, Sphagno recurvi-Caricetum rostratae, Carici echinatae-Sphagnetum (Sphagno-Caricion canescentis), Agrostio caninae-Caricetum diandrae (Caricion canescenti-nigrae), Angelico-Cirsietum palustris (Calthion palustris), Festuco capillatae-Nardetum strictae (Violion caninae) and Calamagrostio arundinaceae-Vaccinietum myrtilli (Genisto pilosae-Vaccinion). 73 bryophyte taxa were recorded (10 liverworts and 63 mosses) from 1946 to the present. In 2010, we found 65 bryophytes (9 liverworts and 56 mosses); 3 of them are vulnerable species and 4 mosses belong to the lower risk – near-threatened category.
