Ende des 16. und Anfang des 17. Jahrhunderts war die bedeutendste Zeit in der langen Geschichte der Liechtenstein in Mitteleuropa, personifiziert in der ersten Reiche mittel Karl von Liechtenstein und in der zweiten Reiche mittel seine jüngere Brüder Maximilian und Gundaker. Im Zeitalter 1590-1650 war die Familie schon seit Jahren integriert in die Adelsgesellschaft in Mähren; und in dieser Zeit hat auch die Integration in die neu konstituierende Struktur der Habsburgermonarchie begonnen.

The late 16th and the early 17th century was one of the most important periods of the long history of Liechtensteins in Central Europe, personified primarly by Prince Karl of Liechtenstein and also to an extent by his younger brothers Maximilian and Gundaker. In the period 1590-1650 the family became incorporated into the structure of the province, and the process of integration into the emerging structures of the Habsburg monarchy was also begun.
