Bisherige korpusbasierte Recherchen zu Diminutiven gingen jeweils aus der tschechischen synthetischen. Diesmal ist der Ausgangspunkt der Analyse die deutsche Form: Diminutive mit dem Suffix –lein und mit seiner “süddeutsche“ Abwandlung –erl, ein Bestandteil des österreichischen Standards. Die Ergebnisse relativieren die vorherigen Untersuchungen und heben außerdem einige wichtige Aspekte der Korpusanalyse hervor.

The most of studies on diminutives are based on the Czech synthetic diminutive system. This study comes from German and analysis the diminutives with the suffixes -lein and its “South German” variant –erl, which belongs to standard Austrian German. The results of this study question previous studies and highlight the importance of corpus based analyses. The study is based on data of the parallel corpus InterCorp.
