Masaryk University, located in Brno, is the second-largest public university in the Czech Republic and the leading higher education institution in Moravia. At present it comprises nine faculties with over 200 departments, institutes and clinics. Recognized as one of the most important teaching and research institutions in the Czech Republic and a highly-regarded Central European university, it has been infused with a strong democratic spirit ever since its establishment in 1919. The university also plays a major role in the social and cultural life of the South Moravian Region. The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1919, i.e. in the year of Masaryk University’s founding. From the very beginning, the faculty has been tasked with the mission of educating future doctors, specialists and researchers in the field of medicine. Throughout its ninety years of existence, the faculty has been home to a number of world-renowned figures. Masaryk University puts great accent on systematic development of international cooperation with foreign institutions. In agreement with Strategy of internationalization for 2010-2015 university develops international students and academic staff mobility, offer more study program and courses lectured in foreign language and realize other activity to increase number of foreign students studying at Masaryk University. Main pillar of international cooperation are activities realized in framework of European education programs, e.g. Lifelong education program LLP, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus etc., which support first of all mobility of students, teachers and administrative staff. International mobility is for us important instrument for increase quality of education. That is why we increase number of students and academic staff, which participate on these programs. Thanks to important mobile program LPP/Erasmus University send every year more than 1400 students. Administration of mobility program is very important for us, which shows our victory in national competition Erasmus Label 2011.
