In this paper, I briefly introduced the process of transformation of The Tale of Genji in works of popular fiction (using the example of the film Genji monogatari: sennen no nazo). Then I introduced an example analysis of the first chapter of Nise Murasaki inaka Genji, a very popular adaptation of The Tale of Genji, focusing on the transformation of the original work.
