The text is focused on Lumír Jisl (1921-1969), an outstanding Czechoslovak archaeologist and expert in Oriental art and material culture including Tibetan Buddhism. He was engaged in the study of Buddhist art in China, Tibet and mainly in Mongolia, where he led a successful archaeological expedition exploring prince Kultegin (685-732) memorial in 1958. There is a detailed description of his work, life and Asian travels 1957-1969.
