Comment faut-il interpréter l image de la société a travers la description romanesque intentionnelle de la vie sociale ? Nous souhaiterions examiner l’image de la société francaise telle que nous la renvoie le roman policier français de la deuxieme moitié du XXe siecle, plus précisément le roman noir apres 1968. Parce que le roman policier/noir est un genre « immédiat et engagé », nous nous intéresserons aux themes qui, selon nous, refletent cet engagement et qui puisent leur inspiration dans de grands événements historiques de la France du 20e siecle.Nous insistons particulierement sur les cas ou le roman policier a joué le role de déclencheur de débats polémiques concernant l interprétation officielle de l Histoire contemporaine (la guerre d Algérie, le cas de Maurice Papon, etc.).

Jak interpretovat snahu románu o společenskou kritiku ? Snažíme se vysvětlit obraz francouzské společnosti jak jej přináší francouzský detektivní a noirový román po roce 1968. Protože se jedná o žánr angažovaný a reflektující aktuální dění, jeho tématy jsou historické události ve Francii 2. poloviny 20. století. Přednáška se tedy soustředí především na romány, které otevřely společenskou polemiku týkající se sporných momentů francouzské novodobé historie (válka v Alžírsku, proces s M. Paponem, atd.)

How can the medium of the novel represent social criticism? This talk aims to present a portrayal of French society as presented by French crime and roman noir after 1968. It is a socially engaged genre reflecting contemporary issues with themes of actual events which took place in France during the second half of the 20th century. Therefore this talk concentrates on novels which opened polemics on the controversial moments of French recent history such as, for example, the Algerian war, M. Papone's trial etc.
