The paper studies folk texts collected in Brno streets. There are two objectives of the paper. First, the aim is to discover whether there is any dialogue-like character between the message itself and its original location and if yes, how this verbo-spatio relationship participates in Brno linguistic landscape and its own identity. Second, the paper focuses on the functional approach of these messages, that is whether their addressers just want to express themselves or whether their intention is to have the message delivered to a concrete addressee, and thus to achieve some higher communicative goals.
